Within sports, there is a silent code that every athlete learns sooner or later. You might hear it from teammates or coaches, or you might learn it the hard way.
FAFO Find Around and Find Out
What does it mean in the athletic world? Simple!
Cut corners in the weight room
Slack off in practice
Disrespect your opponent
You will find out on the field, the court, the mat, or the track.
Throughout athletics, your actions create reactions. Often, those consequences come quickly.
Every repetition you skip and every excuse you make will show. Not always right away. The scoreboard has a memory. So does your body. So do coaches.
The work you avoid today becomes the regret you carry tomorrow.
There is also a flip side to FAFO. Disrespect your teammates, and you will find out. Talk trash without backing it up, and you will find out. Fake the grind and you will find out very quickly.
The athletes who thrive are the ones who respect the process, the people, and the platform they have been given.
Do you want to flip FAFO to your advantage? Put in the work. Lead by example. Hold yourself accountable when no one is watching.
Then you will make others find out what happens when they underestimate you.
Within sports, FAFO is not just a warning. It is a reminder that every action has a reaction.
You can either get exposed or be the one doing the exposing.
So choose your path. Show up soft and find out. Or show up strong and make them find out.
